MRA Extends Flood Relief Assistance To Batu Pahat Evacuees
BATU PAHAT, March 24 – In response to the recent flooding in Batu
Pahat, the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) swiftly mobilised its team to extend flood
relief assistance to affected families seeking refuge at three Temporary
Evacuation Centres (PPS). The relief distribution was carried out in
collaboration with local village heads and the Department of Social Welfare
(JKM) to ensure efficient and equitable allocation of assistance to those most
in need.
Targeted Relief Distribution
The assistance was provided to
flood-affected families across three PPS locations, benefiting a total of 48
families:
·
PPS Dewan Orang Ramai Tongkang Pecah – 25
families
·
PPS SK Seri Comel, Parit Sulong – 7 families
·
PPS Kampung Baharu, Senggarang – 16 families
Understanding the urgent needs of
evacuees, MRA distributed essential hygiene kits and diapers, addressing
immediate concerns for sanitation, personal care, and comfort. These relief
supplies are critical in preventing health risks and ensuring basic hygiene is
maintained, especially in crowded shelter conditions.
The distribution took place at
9:30 PM, ensuring prompt assistance for families grappling with the aftermath
of the floods. Volunteers and response teams worked tirelessly to deliver aid
efficiently, ensuring that no family was left behind.
Ongoing Commitment to Humanitarian Relief
MRA remains steadfast in its
mission to provide timely and impactful humanitarian assistance during times of
crisis. The organisation is closely monitoring the flood situation and stands
ready to deploy additional aid should conditions worsen or more support be
required.
As recovery efforts continue, MRA
welcomes contributions from the public to sustain its relief operations.
Donations and volunteer support play a vital role in ensuring that
flood-affected families receive the assistance they need to rebuild their
lives.
