Shelter
In Malaysia, several
non-governmental organizations (NGOs) provide shelter and protection services
for vulnerable groups, including women and children, refugees, the homeless,
and individuals facing domestic violence. These NGOs work in collaboration with
local authorities and other organizations to offer safe spaces, essential
resources, and legal support to those in need.

Malaysia the Rumah Syukur projects provide similar support to vulnerable groups facing poverty, homelessness, or social hardship. These programs not only offer shelter but also equip beneficiaries with the resources and support needed for self-sufficiency and dignity, enabling them to rebuild better futures.Rumah Sima
MRA’s Rumah Sima serves as a safe shelter for women and children who are victims of abuse, providing them with protection, care, and emotional support. The center offers temporary accommodation, along with counseling, medical care, and legal assistance, helping survivors recover from trauma and rebuild their lives with dignity and safety.
A key role of Rumah Sima is to assist in the adoption process for children who cannot be reunited with their families. MRA ensures these children are placed in stable and loving homes, providing continuous emotional, psychological, and physical support throughout their transition to a new family. Rumah Sima also works closely with the Kedah Welfare Department, accepting referred cases to expand its reach to more vulnerable individuals. This partnership strengthens the child protection network, ensuring that women and children facing abuse or neglect receive timely, comprehensive, and compassionate assistance, giving them a chance to rebuild their lives free from violence and fear.International Shelter Initiatives
