MRA Supports UNIQLO Malaysia In Delivering LifeWear To Communities In Need

UNIQLO Malaysia marked a major milestone in its support for vulnerable communities through the Heart of LifeWear 1M HEATTECH/AIRism Donation event at Mid Valley Megamall.

As part of the Heart of LifeWear initiative, UNIQLO Malaysia has donated approximately 15,500 AIRism T-shirts and Kids’ AIRism Mesh Tank Tops to benefit refugees, disaster-affected families, Orang Asli communities, and low-income households nationwide.

The event brought together partners and beneficiaries, including the Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA), to highlight the impact of this ongoing collaboration.

Speaking at the event, MRA Deputy President I, Khairil Annuar Khalid, expressed gratitude to UNIQLO Malaysia for this meaningful partnership. He emphasised that clothing donations offer more than material relief — they also bring comfort, dignity, and hope to vulnerable communities.

Khairil highlighted that many families, including B40 households, refugees, Orang Asli groups, and disaster survivors, rely on such support for their daily comfort. He also shared how UNIQLO’s HEATTECH garments made a tangible difference during the 2024 Northeast Monsoon floods in Pahang, where affected families received immediate warmth and reassurance during cold, rainy conditions.

He added that the practicality and durability of UNIQLO’s clothing make these contributions especially valuable, and that the partnership strengthens MRA’s ongoing work in education, disaster response, and community empowerment.

As part of its role in supporting the Heart of LifeWear initiative, MRA has already conducted distributions in Johor — including at two villages, Kampung Orang Asli Peta and Kampung Tenglu Laut in Mersing, as well as SMK Dato Sulaiman in Batu Pahat.

Beneficiaries also include students of the Rohingya Community School (RCS) in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, which is managed by MRA. Additional distributions will take place in Kedah, Perak, and Penang in the coming weeks.

During the event, both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to promoting sustainability, inclusivity, and human dignity. Khairil expressed hope that this milestone marks the beginning of an even greater impact for communities in need.
