Malaysian Relief Agency Provides Immediate Aid to Flood Victims in Kluang
KLUANG, March 21, 2025 – Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) Johor swiftly responded to an urgent call for assistance, providing essential supplies to flood victims seeking refuge at the PPS Dewan Terbuka Paya Palembang.
A total of 32 families, comprising 119 individuals, have been affected by the ongoing heavy rainfall, which has continued for over 24 hours. Many evacuees, including the elderly, women, and children, arrived at the temporary relief centre shivering from the cold.
At approximately 11:00 PM, MRA Johor representatives in Kluang received an emergency request for additional sleeping essentials, particularly duvets (toto), to help keep the flood victims warm. Without hesitation, MRA mobilised its resources and delivered the following much-needed supplies:
- 22 toto (duvets)
- 32 pillows
- 60 loaves of bread
- 23 packs of biscuits
The swift response by MRA Johor was made possible through the generosity of its donors and volunteers, whose continuous support enables the agency to deliver timely humanitarian assistance during crises. The distribution of these items not only provided immediate relief but also offered some comfort to those affected by the disaster.
