MRA Remains Committed To The 2025 Pre-Ramadan Blood Donation Campaign Of ANSARA

Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) once again demonstrates its ongoing commitment in supporting the Annual Pre-Ramadan Blood Donation Campaign ANSARA 2025 (ABDC25) as the main strategic partner since 2021. MRA, a humanitarian organization known for its welfare initiatives and disaster relief efforts, continues to play a significant role in ensuring the smooth operation of this campaign, now in its 19th edition.

ABDC25 is the largest annual blood donation program organized by ANSARA Malaysia (MRSM Alumni) since 2007, and has successfully collected a total of 101,098 blood bags up to its 18th edition. This campaign plays a vital role in ensuring the country's blood supply is sufficient, especially during the month of Ramadan.

As a strategic partner, MRA provides support in the form of volunteers, logistics, and awareness campaigns to encourage the public to donate blood. With the presence of over 500 volunteers from various organizations, including MRA, this campaign is carried out smoothly at 62 locations across the country, involving:

  • 13 locations in the Klang Valley in collaboration with the National Blood Centre (PDN),
  • 36 teams from State Hospital Blood Banks, including University Malaya Medical Centre and Specialist Hospital Johor,
  • 23 AEON Supermarket locations nationwide as the main centers for the campaign,
  • 17 public universities, including UKM, UPM, USM, UTM, and UMK, in collaboration with the University Health Centre (PKU) and the Student Volunteer Foundation (YSS).

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN), who is also an ANSARA (MRSM Muar) alumni, said that ABDC is not just a program but a symbol of unity, concern, and the spirit of volunteerism among Malaysians.

"The real success of this campaign is not only in the amount of blood collected. It lies in how the community can make blood donation a regular practice, not just during a crisis," he said during the opening ceremony of ABDC25 at AEON Mall Cheras Selatan today. His speech was delivered by YB Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Al-Hadad, Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADN) of Lembah Jaya at the ABDC launch event at AEON Cheras Selatan on February 23.

This launch marks the beginning of the annual three-day program, which took place from February 21 to February 23, 2025.

Also present at the launch were ANSARA Malaysia president Ar. Noor Azizee bin Abd Aziz, ABDC Chairman Dr. Mohamed Halim bin Abu Bakar, AEON Mall Chief Operations Officer Pn. Munirah binti Azmi, Deputy Director I of the National Blood Centre Dr. Tun Maizura Mohd Fathullah, and President of the Malaysian Relief Agency Dr. Mohd Daud bin Sulaiman.

This year, ABDC25 aims to collect 7,000 blood bags during the three-day program from February 21 to February 23, 2025. MRA is determined to continue playing an active role in such initiatives, aligned with its mission to assist communities in need through humanitarian and health programs.

ANSARA Malaysia extends its appreciation to all strategic partners for their continued efforts in making ABDC25 successful, as well as to all the blood donors who generously share hope and life with those in need.
