Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA), in collaboration with Hospital Al-Islam (HPAI) and Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM), successfully organized the Program Jalinan Kasih Jariah at Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Mahmudah, Jalan Bangi Lama, Selangor. This meaningful initiative was dedicated to providing essential aid and emotional support to the elderly residents, ensuring they receive the necessary care and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan.

The main objective of Program Jalinan Kasih Jariah was to alleviate the basic needs of the senior citizens at Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Mahmudah while fostering stronger ties between donors and residents. The program also served as a platform to engage in meaningful interactions and promote a spirit of togetherness through various activities, including a communal iftar (breaking fast) session.

Beyond providing material assistance, the initiative aimed to uplift the spirits of the elderly and reassure them that they remain valued members of society. Many of these residents have been living away from their families, and through this program, MRA, HPAI, and ABIM sought to bring warmth, kindness, and companionship into their lives.

The event commenced with a symbolic flag-off by the Director of HPAI Dr. Ishak Mas’ud, Vice President 1 of MRA, Haji Khairil Anuar and representatives from ABIM marking the beginning of a heart warming journey to Pusat Jagaan Warga Emas Mahmudah.

The event also witnessed the symbolic launch of a collaboration between Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah and HPAI, signifying a commitment to enhanced healthcare support for the elderly.

One of the highlights of the program was the engagement session with the elderly residents, during which essential goods were distributed by MRA. Volunteers and donors took the opportunity to interact with the residents, listening to their stories and sharing moments of laughter and warmth. The evening culminated with a heartfelt iftar session, where everyone broke their fast together, reinforcing the spirit of unity and compassion.

Following Maghrib prayers, ABIM led a Ramadan spiritual sharing session, offering words of encouragement and reflection to further inspire the attendees.
